About

About:

Inon Zur has scored more than 80 games across some of the largest franchises in the medium. Fallout. Dragon Age. Starfield. Prince of Persia. The Elder Scrolls. Rise of the Rōnin.

In this session he's distilling that career into ten lessons — the things he wishes he'd known earlier, the mistakes that cost him, and the principles that have held up across three decades of scoring interactive worlds.

Expect to hear about how a theme becomes inseparable from a world, what it takes to compose inside an IP with thirty years of expectation attached, working with studios like Bethesda and BioWare, and the emotional logic underneath a score that has to hold up across a hundred hours of play — where the composer never controls when the player hears what.

Followed by an extended community Q&A. Bring your questions.

About Inon:

Inon Zur is an Israeli-born American composer, an Emmy winner and multiple BAFTA nominee, whose Fallout themes have become synonymous with the franchise. He trained at the Music Academy of Tel Aviv before studying in Los Angeles under mentors including Henry Mancini. His Starfield score — over five hours of original music — earned the inaugural BMI Video Game Award. He conducts and records with leading orchestras at Abbey Road and beyond, and has performed his music from the Hollywood Bowl to Royal Albert Hall. He has collaborated with Imagine Dragons on "Children of the Sky (A Starfield Song)" and Florence + The Machine on Dragon Age II.
